LOCATION

All venues take place at the Redwood River Retreat at 111 Orchard Ave. in Carlotta, California, on 2-beautiful acres in the redwood forest overlooking the Van Duzen River, with direct access to the calm and peaceful river. Upon booking, we will email you a receipt and give you an event itinerary as well as directions to local destinations and hikes.

 

SERVICES

The wedding, reception, and food will take place outdoors during nice weather. Services will be brought indoors during inclement weather. Clients get to choose any venue times between 8:00 A.M.-8:00 P.M. Clients and their guests have access to 2 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, video game room, kitchen, 2 refrigerators, stove, oven, microwave, living room, T.V.s, fast Wi-Fi internet, hot water, showers, sun room, decks, BBQ grills, 2-acre backyard, Lodge, Cottage, redwood trees, and the Van Duzen River. Paper bowls/plates, party cups, paper napkins, plasticware are provided for 22 guests. The catered food will be stored and kept warm in heated stainless steel chafing dishes with serving utensils provided. To-go containers will be provided for cake and food.

PARKINGy 

There is enough parking for 7 vehicles maximum. Make sure to drive very very slowly (5-15 mph) and extra extra cautiously through the neighborhood on the way to the venue, as there are deer, people, and children walking on the road in the peaceful neighborhood.

MUSIC

Music will be kept to no louder than 75 decibels to maintain a relaxing and peaceful venue.

REFUNDS

We understand that plans sometimes change, so if you need to cancel or reschedule, we will give you a full 100% refund, less any non-refundable charge(s) from third party vendor(s).

QUESTIONS

Depending on which venue you book, we will ask you some or all of the questions below.

​

1) How many people are in your group, including the bride and groom? 

​

2) What date do you want to get married? The marrying couple needs to meet one of our staff at the Humboldt County Courthouse on or before wedding day so the staff member can fill out the paperwork with you in order to get a Marriage License and apply for a Marriage Certificate.

 

3) Are there any allergy or dietary restrictions for anyone in your group?

​

4) Choose 1 caterer and list your specific food choices:​

1. For Sammy’s BBQ, you get 22 Buffet Dinners, each with 2 main meats, 1 side meat,  2 side dishes, 1 Extra, & 1 Dessert

2. For Humboldt Catering, you get 22 Buffet Dinners, each with 1 Food Theme, 1 Hors d' Oeuvres, 1 Platter,  & 1 A La Carte or 1 Dessert

 

5) Plenty of quality decaf and regular coffee and bottled water will be provided, along with 2 ice chests full of drinks and ice. Please choose 2 juices and 2 types of soft drinks that you’d also like to drink. We do not serve alcohol. It is not allowed to serve others alcohol at the venue; all alcohol must be kept to a restricted access to only people 21 and over at all times and must be for personal use only. We require that nobody in your party drinks and drives, and that each vehicle has a designated sober driver. Anyone not following these alcohol rules will be publicly humiliated and removed from the venue. We offer $100 cash back for anyone booking the Redwood River Retreat overnight lodging in order to sober up; just let us know that someone in your group needed to spend the night and sober up and we will give you $100 cash back upon your booking! There are locked cabinets in the kitchen to keep any of your belongings safe and out of the reach of children.
